Three kids are playing on the park. Two are twelve, the last one looks ten. The two older kids, a dark-haired boy and a cute blonde little girl with freckles stand close, almost intimate, in front of a tree. He's just finished carving a heart on its bark with a screwdriver, and is starting to carve their initials.
The last kid sits on a swing. He closes the book he just finished reading, a cheap high fantasy novel, and lays it on his lap. Everyone else's left, he's alone... just like he was when they were there. Ex
